Colour Quests are addition puzzles and colouring workbooks. Solve the clues in each hunt, find its final total, then use the hunt's colour on matching numbered picture areas.

Each book has two picture adventures, with ten hunts in each. Choose a number range your child is comfortable using, then try a limited sample together.

How the workbooks work

Solve the hunt. Find a sum in each number row. After all five rows, find two of your answers that add up to another, then write that final addition.
Match and colour. Find the final total in the adventure's picture. Colour those areas using the colour labelled on that hunt.
Reveal the picture. Work through ten hunts to build one picture, then begin the book's second adventure. Blank areas stay white.

How a workbook quest works.

Each treasure hunt leads from number clues to a secret number. That number tells you which squares to colour in the adventure’s picture.

Find a sum
In each row, find two different numbers that add to a third. Circle the sum.
Keep five answers
Copy one answer from each row. Five little clues, ready for the next step.
Use your answers. Find the final sum.
After all five rows, find two of your answers that add up to another. Write the addition below.
Colour & discover
Use the hunt’s colour on matching numbers in the picture. Watch the adventure picture take shape.

A helper's field notes

What do we need?

Have these ten pencil colours nearby: blue, pink, red, yellow, orange, grey, brown, purple, green and black.

White paper stays white. Leave unnumbered squares uncoloured too.

A helpful nudge

Try one row at a time. Ask, Which two different numbers add to a third? Copy each circled sum into its answer box.

After the five row clues, look among the five answers for the secret addition. Then use the hunt's colour on the matching numbered squares.

Solve addition puzzles, find each hunt's colour, then colour numbered tiles to make a picture. Here is how the workbook works.

What is it?

Colour Quests are addition puzzle and colouring workbooks. Each of the eight books has two picture adventures, with ten hunts per adventure. Levels 1–4 cover Addition up to 10, 25, 50 and 100 respectively.

Solve the number rows in a hunt, combine collected answers, then use the hunt’s labelled colour on the matching numbered picture areas. The Village website is a separate place to explore alongside the workbooks.

How does a hunt work?

Find a sum in each number row. Find two different numbers in the row which add to a third number there. Circle their total and copy it into the answer box. For example, 2 + 3 = 5.

Use your answers. Find the final sum. After all five rows, find two of your answers that add up to another. Write the addition below.

For Kitten and Puppy (Level 1), choose answers from two different clue rows. The two answers may have the same value: for example, 3 + 3 = 6 when two separate rows each gave 3 and another gave 6. The total must also be among the five collected answers.

Match and colour. Use the final total to find matching numbers in the adventure’s picture, then colour those areas with the colour labelled on that hunt. Repeat across the adventure’s ten hunts to build the picture. Blank picture areas stay white.

Is it suitable for my child?

Start with the number range your child is comfortable using: Level 1 up to 10, Level 2 up to 25, Level 3 up to 50 or Level 4 up to 100. These are workbook levels, not age or school-grade recommendations.

Open the instruction and hunt samples together. Check whether your child can find a sum in a number row, record answers and follow the colouring directions, independently or with help.

Yes. Each book has an instruction example and one unsolved hunt to read and zoom. These are limited previews; complete workbooks, picture reveals and solutions are not included.
